If this light up grill insert carries over to the final product I will squeal like a little girl. But I want to talk about the interior because let's face it the exterior leaves me speechless.

I do believe that is a chrome waterfall center control panel. It looks space age but the screen looks 21st century. I know this is only a concept but I would love to see this carry over to the production model. I think they took a risk choosing the material and it worked the effects the chrome has are stunning.

I know this rear seat layout won't carryover but it is nice as well. Overall I am so excited Lincoln is finally building a new Continental.

Not sure but I wonder if they will use the Falcon platform from Australia. Even if it will be discounted they could still get use out of that RWD platform.

it actually looks like the thing the aptop is sitting on is just a bridge from the front center concoal to the arm rest. but it does kinda look like theres a tunnel running along the floor.

well, not directly lol.

But as exciting as it is, it absolutely SUCKS because I want to share with you guys SO BAD. I got a sneak preview of the GT350, including engine pics pre-release too. Couldn't say anything, definitely couldn't share. Sometimes I think my head may explode.

Also, I'm out of inside info on this one I have no idea what the driveline is or about the platform in general. I've of course asked, I just was not given an answer lol

Yeah I would have a hard time keeping exciting secrets like that.

I am worried the Continental will have a FWD biased. But so do some Audi cars so it doesn't worry me a whole lot. They just need to make all Continentals AWD if it has a FWD bias.

I think this car proves my expectation for what Lincoln's going for.

Everyone's been screaming for RWD and high power engines.

Lincoln doesn't look like they have any interest in performance Luxury. They're basically saying "have at it Caddy". They want plenty of performance to get the job done, but don't look for V or M or AMG competitors.

I think they want to be like a Bentley people can actually afford. Classy, enough power, beautiful materials, and a great ride.

I just hope it doesn't have the same stigma as a Kia K900 uber luxury but no clientele to back it up. We love Lincoln but the public has to love Lincoln as well.

Lincoln made the right move leaving performance to Cadillac for now. The move to get a Halo Car was something Lincoln has needed for at least a decade. Performance can come later. Lincoln commands prestige and luxury.

I think it'll be a lot better received than the K900.

Kia is viewed entirely as a bargain/discount brand. I mean they've been changing that but it was a run before you walk error. They went to an all out sprint that no one respected.

People know Lincoln as a luxury brand, they might not respect the products they've had lately but at least they know it's a luxury brand. Kia wasn't and still isn't a luxury brand. It's hard to sell Luxury buyers on a brand that doesn't give them the "luxury experience"

I think you are right. The Korean car companies just don't quite have a good footing yet for such a leap in the market. Bad advertising didn't help.

If Lincoln gets Matt in the new Continental they will find the buyers.

I know just where BGSU is and even have a friend who graduated from there, what are you studying? I see you're a lifeguard, I think my cert is still active, CPR long gone though. If it is I've been certified for over 12 years now.

I have been a lifeguard for like 5 years I need to move on, but it is a fun job. I know in Ohio lifeguard reserts are every 3 years. CPR every other year I believe. If your certification is still valid I would be impressed. BGSU is a great school and it is cheapish which is nice.

yea same year expiration, I started it in NJ during high school, kept it up in college for a side job while going to school (Michigan State) and then renewed it all in 2011, which my lifeguard was a month or two shy of expiration, CPR long gone. Water Safety Instructor long, looong gone haha. Would have expired in November of 14 I think. So I'm just outside. I was a big time swimmer and got it again in 11 so I could help coach a local YMCA swim team.

What are you studying/did you study? Graduate yet?

Yep the YMCA is were I have always lifeguarded and got my certification. Hell I coached a team there myself. I have always loved the sport.

I am studying History and Political Science a great degree for law. I am graduating next spring and then after that hopefully a law school in Central Ohio.

I really hope the chrome carries over to reality both inside and out.

I think on the production model we would see minor changes such as the emblem not being illuminated and 3 seats in the rear instead of that center infotainment area.

But I agree this Continental looks production ready.

I turned down a couple scholarships for swimming to go to the school I really wanted to attend and get a better education (worked out). I tore my knee senior captain season doing breast stroke (no more IM for me) some how colleges didn't yank the scholarship offers, but I knew my knee would go again (which it did 2 more times in college, 1 swimming, 1 in judo).

Damn man you were quite the athlete. At least you still got to swim in college it sounds like. I wish BG would have had a mens team. I never really carried much for breast or for the IM. I liked the mile and the 500 stuff like that.

I have always wanted to do an Oppo meet up so keep me posted if there is one nearby I would love to come up and meet the Detroit Oppos! Steve Lehto probably wouldn't want to hirer a rookie. I do like his articles they are always informative.
